Beekeeping has been carried out across many generations in Tanzania. It plays a critical role in the livelihoods of the rural communities in five native dynamics;
· It is income generating activity
· Medicinal value of honey and other hive products is invaluable
· It supports agricultural activities through facilitating critical processes for example cross pollination and improve crop and seed yield.
· It contribute immensely to forests conservation efforts
· It facilitates health linkages between biodiversity (insects and plants) towards sustainable livelihoods.
